It felt like the game split in our faces and that everyone was going to have the best gear like us within a week, so we all quit. I think the reason I quit is because after all the work we put in to get the best items, they started to patch in new quests that each had 3-5 of the big boss monsters that dropped the rare items. I also remember I was the first to craft the high GR longsword called 'claim solias' which I remember took damn forever. As far as I know I was the first to do this unless the very reclusive Japanese players like Saberlily's group at the time did it. I discovered one of the fastest ways in the game to grind as a mage with the big AoE spells and did the rebirth thing however many times it took to get max stats (was it 6?). This is our little group, (this video is literally ~11 days after the games NA release, we leveled pretty damn fast)

I had a small group of people who had a lot of time to waste at the time like myself and we grinded a lot. I played on release for a long time (400~500 hours) and was one of the first to reach GR14 (quit before 15 if I remember) That's all folks! *EDIT2: Oh my gods, someone sent me a b-mail (in game) before the shutdown and I can't check it! Now there will forever be a mail notification on my game. *EDIT: I just tried to connect to Geonet and was notified that the service has been terminated. For that I am truly grateful and perhaps if I get the itch I'll check out the Japanese servers eventually (but probably not).ĭoes anyone else have fond memories of WKC online? What games will you move to now? FF14? GW2? PSO2? Despite all that Level-5 managed to make a weird, flawed but charming game that caused me to squander several hundred hours fighting dragons, ogres, and chimeras to improve my characters and gain as much grade as I could both online and off. To me WKC is a classic case of over-promising and under-delivering both in terms of game features and online capabilities. I know that WKC's popularity plummeted precipitously (dat alliteration) but as someone who played it as soon as I could get it (Feb 3, 2010) I will definitely miss logging on during a rainy weekend and grinding out some quests with random people and a few good friends. I didn't see any topic addressing this event specifically so I thought it would be useful to have one place to discuss it.

As many of you may be aware the US White Knight Chronicles servers and the Geonet service will be shut down today if they haven't been already.
